KOMATSU Makoto [ Makoto KOMATSU ]
Born in Tokyo, he studied under Stig Lindberg at the Sweden-based “Gustavsberg” House, and his design activities have been diverse, ranging from ceramics to glass and stainless steel tableware, lighting and furniture. His Crinkle Super Bag was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and his products are still sold in MoMA shops around the world. Other museums around the world, such as the FAENZA Museum of Ceramics in Italy and the VICTORIA & ALBERT Museum in the UK, have his work in their collections.
