More than 400 years ago, when Maeda Toshinaga, lord of Kaga Domain, took up residence at Takaoka Castle, he invited 7 metal casters to Kanaya-machi in Takaoka as part of his prosperity policy for the castle town. They took their brand name from name of a predecessor’s shop preserved from that time, and they carry on the age-old techniques into the future.
