Kamasada Casting Workshop. Kamasada founded its cast metal shop in Morioka during the Meiji era (1868-1912). Lots of their pieces contain ancient Japanese designs, however some also have more modern designs with circles, triangles and squares. The way these shapes are arranged can easily remind us of the depth of Japanese design.
The method of making Nambu Ironware hasn’t changed much since the Momoyama period around 400 years ago (1568-1600). Recently, the simple and modern beauty of Nambu Ironware and its fantastic capabilities have started to attract attention again.
